Stags’ Leap Merlot

November 14, 2020 (an old one we forgot to post)

Stags’ Leap Merlot, 2016.

Zach says, “Rust cherry in the glass. Nose is straightforward but pleasant. Notes of raspberry jam, fresh mulch or Spanish moss, dried oregano, and vanilla sugar. Very acidic and tart. Moderate tannin. Full bodied. Finish is slightly metallic and sharp. 7/10.”

Lauren says, “Garnet in the glass. Earthy aroma. Scent of wet soil and dried cranberries. Medium bodied. Smooth. Decent tannins leave your mouth dry. Flavor of black berries and oregano. I like it. A solid 7.5/10. One of the best merlots I have had.”
