Dutton Goldfield Chardonnay

Dutton Goldfield Chardonnay, 2014.
$25.99 at Wine & Spirits on Gandy.
Enjoyed after dinner and while watching Dunkirk for the first time.

Lauren says, “Aroma of oak, citrus, honey, and peach. Medium-bodied with a smooth and buttery flavor. Just a small amount of oak and honey. Ending is crisp, refreshing, and full of melon, almost reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc. However, there is a relatively long aftertaste of toasted almonds, green apple, and oak, which confirm that it is a Chard after all. A very decent bottle. 7.5/10.”

Zach says, “Light gold in color. Nose is fickle: crisp, fruity and refreshing, yet rich and smooth. Notes of vanilla, oak, apple, and clove. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy. Taste is initially mild and even, but crescendos into a finish of rich caramel and oak that is seemingly never-ending. Very enjoyable. 8/10”
